LIVE REVIEW- EXTREME - NEWCASTLE CITY HALL 2023

Photos by David Weddle @dweddlephotography Newcastle City Hall is a venue that has had its fair share of great musical moments over the years, with some of music's biggest names treading the boards there. And now, on a rainy November evening, that legacy continues with giants of rock Extreme kicking off the UK leg of their 'Thicker Than Blood' tour. It might have been miserable weather, but the people queueing were in high spirits as they waited in line. There was a very positive mood and smiling faces, despite the cold. Warming up the crowd, quite literally, masters of funk metal, Living Colour brought their A game with them. Starting with a nod to Jimi Hendrix's 81st birthday, Living Colour started their set with a cover of 'Cross Town Traffic' before leading into 'Leave It Alone', such a legendary band that has seen their career span four decades. LIVE REVIEW- DON BROCO - NEWCASTLE CITY HALL 12TH DECEMBER 2023

Photos and review by David Weddle - @dweddlephotography Alt-Rock four piece Don Broco have been riding on the crest of a wave of success recently, thanks to their epic 2021 album, 'Amazing Things', which charted at number one in the UK charts. Since its release, Don Broco has spent much of the last two years bringing the album to life on stages across the world, including at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall.  The band has also independently released their single and the tour's namesake, 'Birthday Party'. With their tour of intimate venues taking in towns and cities up and down the UK. We caught their show at Newcastle City Hall. Don Broco brought not one but two opening bands with them. The world of rock, that is. 2003 saw The Darkness release their debut album, 'Permission to Land'. An iconic album to this very day, having given us some of the most memorable music and music videos of the day. The album still holds a special place in the hearts and minds of generations of The Darkness fans the world over. Twenty years on from its initial release, the band has re-released the album, titled 'Permission to Land...Again', in celebration of two decades of incredible music.  With a tour to support the release of the album, The Darkness stopped off at Newcastle City Hall to give the North East one hell of a party.
